Municipal Government
A major city needed to make its geographic and mapping resources accessible to residents, businesses, and city departments — all of whom used the same data for very different purposes. Thirty-eight city departments contributed content. Citizens couldn’t find what they needed. Internal staff couldn’t keep it updated.
Highdive conducted focus groups with residents and business users to understand how they actually looked for mapping information and what organizational structure made sense to them — not to the city departments that produced it. We ran usability studies to identify friction in the navigation and search experience.
The resulting portal became one of the most visited pages on the city’s website, and gave departments a streamlined process for contributing and maintaining their content independently.
